Defender Alejandro Catena gave Los Rojillos a first-half lead, but Txuri-urdin rallied with three goals in the second half.
Club Atlético Osasuna (3-2-8, 11 points) fell to Real Sociedad (4-4-5, 16 points) 3-1 at El Sadar on Saturday night. Defender Alejandro Catena put Los Rojillos ahead late in the first half, but midfielders Brais Méndez and Gonçalo Guedes, along with forward Ander Barrenetxea, propelled the Txuri-urdin to victory with three goals after the break.
The home side created the first opportunity, with forward Raúl García finding himself in a one-on-one situation against goalkeeper Álex Remiro after a well-placed through ball from midfielder Aimar. However, Remiro won the duel as García attempted to sidestep him. Real Sociedad tried to assert control, but Osasuna remained a threat with García leading the attack. Los Rojillo’s first shot missed wide, and his second effort went over the crossbar. Just before halftime, Aimar delivered a corner kick into the box, where Catena rose up to head the ball into the net and give Osasuna the lead.
Eight minutes into the second half, Real Sociedad equalized when Méndez fired a shot that deflected off defender Juan Cruz and into the net. In the 59th minute, Guedes put the Txuri-urdin ahead with a left-footed strike. Osasuna fought back, pressing forward and making substitutions, including introducing midfielder Rubén García, who quickly tested Remiro with a shot on target. Aimar also attempted to score from inside the box, but Remiro denied his effort as well. In the 82nd minute, Barrenetxea struck from more than 35 yards out to secure the victory for his side.
In the closing minutes, Osasuna’s Iñigo Arguibide was ejected from the match with a straight red card.
Osasuna's next match is against RCD Mallorca on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix in Week 14 of LaLiga EA Sports. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CET (1 p.m. GMT/8 a.m. ET).
